Child & Adolescent Foot Care
If your child is not participating as often in sports or in other physical activities or is complaining of foot pain, don't think it's caused by "growing pains". Your child may have a common developmental foot condition such as flat feet that could be simply treated with a custom foot orthotic. In addition, parents may observe that their children are often falling or tripping and not able to keep up with normal activities. This may be due to a condition called in-toeing or out-toeing.
At our podiatry practice, Advance Foot & Ankle Solutions, we do a complete foot exam to determine the best treatment plan to correct his or her foot problem. Many childhood foot conditions can be helped with a custom foot orthotic which is an insert that fits into the shoe that keeps the bones in the feet in their proper alignment. This can eliminate their foot pain and allow normal development as your child matures into adulthood.
When Is Surgery For Flatfoot Needed? In some cases, surgery maybe necessary to find relief from the symptoms and improve foot function. After a comprehensive evaluation the surgical procedure(s) selected for your child will depend on his or her type of flatfoot and degree of deformity. Please get in touch for a consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pediatric Foot Care
-
In-toeing and out-toeing occur when a child's feet point inward or outward while walking. These walking patterns may be related to normal development or underlying structural differences. If your child frequently trips, falls, or experiences discomfort, Dr. Sadhnani can evaluate their walking pattern and foot alignment.
-
Flat feet are common in young children and often improve naturally as their feet develop. However, persistent pain, difficulty walking, or reduced participation in activities may indicate a need for treatment.
Dr. Sadhnani evaluates foot alignment and may recommend custom orthotics to improve support and comfort.
-
Custom orthotics are specially designed shoe inserts that support a child's feet and address certain alignment problems. They may help relieve discomfort associated with flat feet and other conditions. Dr. Sadhnani determines whether orthotics are appropriate based on your child's symptoms, foot structure, and developmental needs.
-
If your child frequently complains of foot pain, trips or falls, walks unusually, or avoids sports and physical activities, a pediatric podiatry evaluation may be helpful. Dr. Sadhnani examines children's developing feet to identify underlying conditions and recommend appropriate treatment before problems become more troublesome.
